Not only does the removal of dead, diseased or injured parts of plants invigorate and rejuvenate them, it also maintains and maximizes their health and aesthetic qualities, improves air circulation, minimizes the potential for pest damage, controls growth, encourages flower and fruit production, maintains shapes and forms, supports wildlife habitats and protects people and property.
