Small, tidy, versatile, Low maintenance and colorful Crimson Pygmy Barberry Shrub (Barberry Berberis thunbergii f. atropurpurea ‘Atropurpurea Nana) is a naturally miniature dwarf version of the Japanese Barberry plant.

The ruby-red foliage keeps its color all season long while adding pops of red when new growth starts to develop. Besides the colorful foliage, Spring offers a lot of interest with tiny yellow flowers and a sprinkling of reddish-purple berries.

With a preference for full sun and dry soil conditions it reaches a compact 2 feet in height with a 3 feet spread, requires little pruning and is a perfect option for all those little spaces in the garden that need to be filled in or as dwarf borders, for edging, in mass plantings & for use in Containers.

Crimson Pygmy is drought tolerant and resistant to disease, urban conditions, deer, and insects
