Camellia Japonica – Professor Charles S. Sargent
An old and reliable favorite and early bloomer, over an extended period from as early as late November to May, Professor Charles S. Sargent Camellia produces dense rounded flowers in a tight, peony to anemone form that are simply packed with dark red petals. Leaves are dark green, thick, broad, and elliptic. This is a vigorous and fast-growing evergreen shrub with a dense upright to rounded shape and an average expected mature height and width of 8-12′ x 6-8′.
