Hubbs Red Willow – Acer Palmatum Thread Leaf
A most attractive and vigorous option ‘Hubb’s Red Willow’ is a rich dark burgundy upright ornamental maple with long narrow lobes that are slightly incised, giving this small tree a willow or bamboo like texture and delicate appearance. Very heat tolerant this is a tough maple. Vase shaped when young it slows down with age forming a beautiful round topped small tree. Fall color comes with an onslaught of fiery oranges and reds. Its upright form and size make this beautiful tree a perfect fit and eye-catching focal point specimen for smaller garden spaces, in mass plantings or in pots and other assorted containers.
