Skeeters Broom – Acer Palmatum

Derived from the popular, hardy, and dependable Bloodgood Skeeter’s Broom is an attractive and unique Japanese Maple with a statuesque, narrow, upright growth habit that holds its color very well. The leaves are a stunning rich bright red when first emerging in spring maturing to a rich deep purple red  in summer and finally a bright brilliant scarlet in the fall. Red winter twigs add to its appeal making it a four-season colorful tree. Durable, hardy, and vigorous it can make a prefect accent specimen, is ideal for beds or in semi-shaded woodland areas and its narrow upright form makes this maple a perfect selection for smaller garden spaces and in containers. With its strong foliage color and a distinct dwarf form, this maple is among the best upright varieties available.
