Inaba shidare – Acer Palmatum
An outstanding weeping Japanese maple and one of the best and resilient lace leaf cultivars for hotter climates. Its name means ” cascading ricelike leaf” and it differs from others of its type in its deep color and individual large leaf shape. Developing a deep tone of purple red or burgundy as they grow in the spring the leaves retain the deep color through the season. Fall color is magical as it turns from purple red to a bright fiery red . Although Inaba shidare does cascade it features a rather upright erect growing form and is vigorous and sturdy.
