Shaina – Acer Palmatum
The name ‘Shaina’ is Hebrew for “beautiful”, which is quite fitting for such a handsome dwarf Japanese upright round- leaved maple with a compact form. The freely branching growth eventually becomes dense with maturity forming a globe shaped tree. New spring foliage emerges bright red, maturing to a deep maroon- purple -red for the summer turning bright crimson in the fall. A slow grower it is well-suited for use and adds a unique aesthetic appeal as a small lawn tree or located on patios and entryways. An ideal size for a container specimen and rock garden.
